This HikMicro M15 camera is perfect for mapping and monitoring wildlife in a hunting area. The wildlife camera takes photos with a resolution of up to ten megapixels and records videos with sound for ten seconds at a resolution of 1080 pixels. For longer videos, the resolution drops slightly to 720P after 20 seconds and to Wide Video Graphics Array (WVGA) after 30 seconds. It’s even possible to take up to three photos in burst mode, where the camera quickly takes one, two or three photos per detection. During the day, the camera takes sharp colour photos, and at night, black-and-white photos. Un total de 12 LED infrarouges assure une image claire même la nuit. Les photos et les vidéos sont transmises via l’antenne 4G à l’application pour smartphone HikMicro Sight, téléchargeable gratuitement. It lets you set up the camera in detail. For instance, you choose the time periods in which it is active, set the resolution for photos or videos and make use of various other options. Despite the many diverse options, the HikMicro M15 wildlife camera is extremely user-friendly. Therefore, when setting up the wildlife camera, you don’t need much. Using the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera, you insert six to 12 AA batteries. With 12 AA batteries, the camera should run for as long as six months on standby.

After powering the camera with batteries, you can mount it around a tree, for example, or place it on a tripod. To do this, the camera is fitted with 1/4” – 20 UNC threads at the bottom and back. You then open the front flap. On the left-hand side there is space for a SIM card and on the right-hand side there is space for an SD card of up to 32 GB for storing captured photos and videos. There is also a slider under the cover. This slider is used to switch the HikMicro M15 wildlife camera from stop mode to configuration mode.

Four indicators should light up green in configuration mode, before your cursor switches to run mode. They indicate whether an SD card is present and whether the range is sufficient. The camera also has a synchronisation button that lets you take a test photo. When all the lights are green and the camera is in on mode, you close the lid and your wildlife camera goes to work in the time slots you’ve specified. The HikMicro M15 wildlife camera has a passive infrared motion sensor that activates the camera when something passes close by. This means that images are only taken when something actually passes by, and the wildlife camera won’t drain its batteries unnecessarily.

This highly sensitive motion sensor has a maximum range of 25 metres at a diagonal angle of 60 degrees and a horizontal angle of 45 degrees. The camera has an activation time of half a second, so you won’t miss a thing. The M15 wildlife camera measures 112 x 86.4 x 143 mm, weighs 440 grams and is printed in camouflage. It blends in easily with its surroundings, so you can keep an eye on your hunting area.
