Barbour Bedale® Wax Jacket olive

In 1980, Barbour produced their first short, lightweight jacket, the Bedale. Originally designed for horse riding, the Bedale is worn by many Brits, from royalty to pop icons. Dame Margaret Barbour designed the Bedale with equestrian practices in mind – with a shorter length, relaxed fit, rear vents and the essential nylon ‘drip-strip’ on the inside that prevents moisture from horses seeping into the jacket. Made from mid-weight 6oz waxed cotton and fully interactive with optional zip-in thermal liners and hood, the Bedale is a brilliant year-round jacket. The classic elements of a Barbour jacket are all present, with a brass two-way zip and ‘Stormfly’ front with press studs, two large bellows pockets and two moleskin-lined handwarmer pockets, and the traditional corduroy collar with press studs for a hidden throat flap. The Bedale is now a classic and its practical and simple style remains popular with all ages. The popularity of the Bedale has led to a slimmed-down version for women – the Beadnell, named after a small fishing village in Northumberland.
